On December 6, Iljin Group and Seoul National University jointly opened the Smart Energy Solution Research Center within the Fundamental Energy Research Institute.

Iljin and Seoul National University plan to research and develop a variety of smart energy related technologies to meet mid- and long-term energy needs.  By partnering with Seoul National University, the Center will train and cultivate up and coming researchers from the talent pool the nation’s top university has to offer.  In doing so, Iljin will stay at the cutting edge of the industry.

At the ceremony, company chairman, Jin Gyu Huh stated that Iljin replaced the import of key industries by domestically producing energy and electricity, and is now stably providing high quality energy throughout the country.  He added that with the opening of the new research center, he hopes it will play an important role in solving the energy issues we face today as it grows to be a leader in future energy and electricity.
